Support Groups
Connecting with others
The days, weeks and even months after a cancer diagnosis can be stressful and emotional. There are many uncertainties and it could be hard to know what to expect until you experience it yourself.
Support groups provide a great opportunity for you to share with others who are living a similar cancer experience. The groups are a safe place to express yourself – share your feelings, fears, frustrations, happiness and anything else. It could be very comforting and supportive to know that others who are touched by cancer understand what you are going through.
Support groups also give you a chance to find inner strength and ways to cope better with the challenges that can come with cancer. You can get suggestions on coping with emotional challenges, how to balance appointments with your daily life and all sorts of tips to help you through your cancer journey.
